STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY

When I was small, I really liked visiting zoos because I loved animals; but now as I am older, I don't like visiting zoos because I love animals. You might be wondering why there is such a difference between my mindset about zoos as I grew up. I also think that you already must have understood the main reason for this blog by the title. Yes, it is Animal Cruelty.

You must have visited zoos or circuses when you were young, or some of you must be visiting till now too.  I am guessing the varied species of animals would have filled you ecstasy and such excitement that makes you want to visit them again and again. I mean, sure, it is natural to be able to see so many types of animals like the Indian rock python, the vipers, the different types of peacocks like the white peacock, all the species of the big cats and the exotic birds with their eye-capturing shades and unique chirps; but did you hear the dark secrets of these zoos showcasing their collection of animals and the circuses displaying awesome tricks of their animals? Do you think the animals are happy performing tricks in circuses and being a laughing stock there and being displayed and stared at all day long and living in a hardly spacious cage? Well... they don't!

Let's start off with their untruthful declarations. Zoos and circuses have mislead us in many ways. The zoos claim to be providing a very suitable environment for the animals, giving animals the required amount of food, water and care, and also claim that they are breeding animals for conserving and saving their species. But the truth is not what they claim. These organisations do not give animals sufficient food, water or even rest.

Next, about how the zoos and circuses get their animals from? They get the animals from other zoos, which sell their old animals off. They can also appoint hunters to hunt down or take animals as captive. Some people even even kill animals like tigers for their precious hides, elephants for their expensive tusks and horses for leather! This is not right. They deserve to live too. Imagine how many animals are snatched away from their families! Bhagvad gita chapter 14 verse 4 states : 'sarva-yonisu'  which means "In all species of life, soul exists." Animals are not much different from humans; they eat food to live, we eat too; we travel to different places for refuge sometimes, they do too. They have as much as us to live a free life , free of all bonds. Now you might be thinking, I don't hunt down animals, how can I help in this? Yes you can. Say no to these type of products. If the demand for animal products decrease, animal cruelty can too. Say no to Zoos!!

Also, I was thinking that i could include problems related not only to the society, but to normal people as well. Should I do it or not? Let me know in the comments!

I know this is not much but i have tried my bit bring about some change. Remember, you are always capable of bringing change, you should just know how.
