CHANGE
Change. A small word, yet so powerful when experienced. We have always been told to be strong when we experience change at some point of our life. Change is, as our elders rightly said, an inevitable truth of life. It is often unexpected. It may be caused by you or someone else, but it is you who accepts it. It may be small as a change of likings, major changes like your school, house etc. But, as always, here is a thoughtful question asked by many-
"Is change good or bad in one's life?"
Some of you might say "No; change is scary. It definitely messes with our life, so it's not good." Everyone has this thought; but remember, the script of life is not in your hands, but the way of accepting change is. Let's concentrate on the major changes in life, those, which are not caused by you. Think of change as a teacher because they have the same characteristics. Which characteristics, you ask? Well read on!
1) It teaches you-
Change teaches you many things through an explanation or the hard way, like a teacher. You must have heard "Learn from your mistakes." , but you can also learn from change. Change is a chance at transformation, a partial one or a complete metamorphosis of your character. It teaches you many things, but the most important and unforgettable lesson it teaches you in life is that nothing, no happiness, no suffering, no sadness is permanent in life. Most of the things you receive in life are temporary. Change is difficult, it may hurt you a lot, but that's the thing with pain, it demands to be felt.
2) It tests you-
Life is a test paper! It questions you about the lessons you previously learnt and sometimes it also asks you questions out of the box but still connected to your topic. And as change is a part of life, change sets a test paper as well! Change tests your adaptability, your patience and your confidence. And as change is often unexpected ,it strikes you at a time when you are really comfortable with your current life. For example, the Coronavirus pandemic has tested our adaptability towards the unusual masks, barren roads, social distancing etc, something which had not happened before. No one even expected it would be that big of an issue. But hey, an occurrence of change just alters your life, it doesn't do anything so unbearable until you start being pessimistic about it.
3) It assigns you homework😉-
Change gives you homework. How? Change assigns you homework in the form of memorizing the lessons it taught you. Homework, as we are told, helps us revise and remember the virtues and lessons we learnt again. And...when change assigns us homework, it is for our well being, so that the next time change strikes us, we are prepared and know how to face it without panic.
So, even though change is difficult, it is actually a blessing in disguise. Nothing is all good or all bad. Such is the inexplicable phenomena of life. Just smile at what happened, extract a lesson from it and learn to move on.
